Website Planning:
This part of the process can be started without me. Take some time to think about what you wish to accomplish with your site. A website can be as simple as a single page with only email and phone contact information. Sites requiring interactive forms, registrations, user-lists etc are more complicated. Determine if you need any special functions or interactivity with your visitors. Consider which color schemes and styles appeal to you. If you have any guide sites you would like me to refer to please supply me with the links.
When you are ready let me know. I will give you a free, no-obligation design quote.Once we have agreed on project details and price I will send you a Website development Agreement for you to review and sign. An initial deposit of 50% is required before I begin the project. You may return this with your signed agreement. The remainder of your balance will be due on completion.
Starting:
I will send you a receipt for your deposits and confirmation of project start date. I will also provide you with a list of items which will be needed from you over the course of development. You will need to let me know what navigation links you would like (such as home, services, about us, etc). You must supply all text and/or product information you want included on your site. In addition, you may also supply materials such as company logo, photos, etc.
For E-commerce sites please provide me with a spreadsheet listing the following: Product Name, Unique Product ID Number, Product Description, Options (size, color, etc), Price, Approximate Weight, Number in Stock, as well as the product photos named in correspondence with the Product ID Number on the Spreadsheet.
Ideally all the necessary information should be available to me prior to start-up. Usually within 14 business days following your start date I will have 3 design mock-ups for you to review. You decide which one you would like to use. We will work together to make modifications to the design until the final desired look is achieved.
Development:
As we move into development I will create the interior page layout, convert designs to HTML, and add programming. You will have the opportunity to review all progress being made over the internet. I will inform you by email when updates to the site have been made.
Testing:
Your website is tested on a variety of operating systems and browsers to insure proper display and functionality. A grammar and spell check is performed to insure there are no mistakes. All forms and programming features are tested to confirm they are functioning as required. Meta Tags, Page Titles, Page Heading, Alt Image Tags, Link Text, and Page Body Text evaluation and adjustment where needed throughout the website. At no time can we guarantee when or where the search engines will place your website within their search results or directory. A thorough check for misdirected links and missing files is performed prior to as well as after launch
Launch:
Final payment is due prior to taking the website live on your domain. Upon payment you will be emailed a paid in full receipt. All necessary website files and scripts will be copied to your domain and databases will be set up. After the website is live, interactive programming, scripts, links, and files are error tested again to ensure proper functioning. Search Engine Submissions occurs after launch and testing.
After launch and testing you will be provided with a zipped archive of all website files. Any documentation and information pertaining to your website such as hosting information, features, and software information will be supplied to you in a document for your files and future reference.
Warranty:
Minor adjustments to your website are included at no charge for up to 6 months after the website is launched. Minor changes include adding or changing text, adding or changing photos, etc. Any major revision requests will require additional discussion and possibly incur a fee.
